Happy Thursday everyone! Last weekend I went to Boston with a group of girlfriends from work. We call our group “Ladies in Logistics” which is kind of nerdy – but we all work in supply chain consulting and have flexible travel schedules (living up the perks of consulting to the fullest). We have done a lot of trips together throughout the past few years including NOLA, DC, Charlotte, Napa and this time on the list was Boston! Below is a recap of our weekend!
Thursday
The cheapest flight I could find was at 6am so I got myself out of bed super early and worked from my friends condo in Southie (South Boston) for the day. Her condo building is in a refurbished church, which apparently is popular in this area of Boston since there were a lot of vacant churches.
When my friend got back from work we headed to dinner at Lincoln Tavern with the other girl who flew in Thursday night. Highly recommend all of their food – but this night we split brussel sprouts, a kale salad and their white pizza – YUMM!!!
Friday
The rest of the girls arrived throughout the day on Friday, some having to take a few work calls. Since I take PTO very seriously I walked around Southie exploring by myself in the morning while everyone else worked #priorities. My friends condo is pretty close to Castle Island so I grabbed a coffee and walked around the oceanside path to get there. For some reason this part of Boston really reminded me of San Francisco. The streets are pretty hilly and there are a lot of colorful houses.
For lunch we went to The Broadway in South Boston. I got the Green Goddess bowl (Cauliflower, zucchini noodles, kale, chicken, quinoa). I love when I can find a delicious/healthy option when I’m traveling – especially since we were headed to a food festival the next day. Our waiter was also the sweetest! He complimented me on my sweater and waited to pour a drink so I could take a boomerang – A+ service 🙂
When everyone was finally done working we headed to a pop-up Cisco Brewery Beer Garden. The brewery is based in Nantucket which is one of my favorite places to go in the summer. I actually lived on cape cod for a summer in college which is why this midwest girl has any ties to the east coast haha. Anyways, I got their Double IPA which was delicious (I love Hops and a good bang for my buck!)
We followed Cisco by another Brewery called Harpoon before heading to dinner at Babbo. I had actually been to Boston a few times before this trip and for one of the times I went to Harpoon fest at this brewery which is kind of like their version of oktoberfest. It was pretty fun if you are ever in Boston the weekend it’s going on. I had another IPA here – but honestly it kind of tasted like bud light so I recommend not getting the house IPA.
Saturday
On Saturday there was a food festival going on outside Fenway that was put on by a group called Phantom Gourmet. According to their instagram there were over 10 Billion calories served… which is kind of disgusting but also kind of incredible. My pants were definitely feeling the 7th inning stretch when we left but it was worth it.
After getting over our food coma we headed back to Lincoln Tavern for dinner and cocktails (highly recommend the Lady Lincoln cocktail on ice)! I flew out early on Sunday morning because I always need a full day home to recover after a weekend trip! Who else agrees? Overall it was such a fun trip and I can’t wait to plan the next Ladies in Logistics adventure!
Thanks for stopping by!
XOXO
Looks like you had a great weekend.
Thanks for all the great tips.
Take care
This sounds like such a fun weekend away! I love your friends’ apartment. Living in a refurbished church would be so cool. Thank you for all the restaurant recommendations – I’ll write these down for the next time I’m in Boston!

Thanks Bettina! It was so much fun! Her apartment is serious goals! If I could have her apt with my views I would be one happy girl! Thanks for reading!
What a great post! It looks like you had so much fun girl. And I love the way you always travel in style. I am not a beer drinker, but even I enjoyed going through your brewery experience! XX, Gena.
