Family Vacation at the Westin Punta Cana Resort & Club

Family vacations are my absolute FAVORITE because we all have similar vacation goals. Sit in the sun – read a book – have a cocktail – repeat. It seriously works out so nicely that we are all lazy vacationers! Who’s with me? This year we went to Punta Cana and had the best time!

We stayed at the The Westin Punta Cana Resort & Club which was different from our typical vacations (we tend to stay at timeshares where we have a kitchen and a communal space to hang out in). However, it didn’t bother me at all. The only “issue” we had was that my sister and I got the nicer room with views straight out to the ocean haha…what can I say?

If you got to Punta Cana and want a relaxing trip I would definitely recommend this hotel. The property is beautiful, the food was great and you don’t have to fight for chairs at the pool which is a must for me. There is nothing worse than waking up at the crack of dawn to save chairs every morning – too much stress for this girl who loves her zzzzz’s!

Although we love being lazy we did venture from the hotel one day to go check out an ecological reserve! It was only about a 15 or so minute trip from the hotel and a really fun few hour activity to break from sitting in the sun.

We also went into town for dinner one night. The shuttle for the Westin was kind of weird because it dropped us off in the back of a hotel and didn’t really give any direction on where to go – but thankfully we had some veterans on the bus who showed us across the street to the restaurants. The little downtown area is so cute and was full of little trendy places to eat and shop!

We also of course checked out the SPA at the hotel and it did not disappoint! They had a sauna and steam room to use before (or after) your appointment, a separate pool facing right over the ocean, and the massages were excellent (and trust me when I say that because I’ve had a lot of them in my life). Massages are secretly (not so secretly) my guilty pleasure.

If you go to Punta Cana I recommend checking out La Yola restaurant! This was our only fancy meal of our trip (we’re pretty low key with food on beach vacations) and it was delicious!

I think one of my favorite things about the trip was how many people asked my parents how they convinced their grown daughters to go on vacation with them. Their response “we payed”. But in all seriousness I am always so shocked by that question. Maybe I’m naive because we’re a super close family, but I’ll go on vacation with them any day – with them paying or not (but preferably with them paying haha)

Next stop – Switzerland and Germany for a sister trip in July!

Thanks for stopping by!

XOXO
