First time in Las Vegas: What I Ate, Saw and Loved

Our First Night in Vegas: Champagne & Spago

In this post, I’m sharing my first-time Las Vegas itinerary – including what I ate, the sights I loved, and what I’d do again on my next trip.

We landed in Vegas and kicked things off in style – a driver picked us up at the airport with champagne in hand and took us straight to the Bellagio.

The Bellagio is one of the most iconic hotels on the Strip, best known for its fountain shows (which actually have more than 1,200 water jets shooting as high as 460 feet in the air!). Inside, the lobby ceiling is covered with 2,000 hand-blown glass flowers by artist Dale Chihuly – something you can’t miss when you walk in. The hotel also has a rotating Conservatory & Botanical Garden, and when we visited, it was decked out with oversized flower chess pieces that were so cool to see. Add in a great pool and its central location, and it was the perfect home base for a first-time in Las Vegas Itinerary.

After settling in, we got ready for our first dinner of the trip at Spago, the Wolfgang Puck classic with amazing views of the fountains. If I’m being honest – the food was fine, nothing to write home about.

After dinner, we headed to Pinky Ring at the Bellagio for drinks which is owned by Bruno Mars. It’s a small, fun spot- just keep in mind you can’t use your phone! Definitely a great vibe if you have a table and want a lively, intimate experience.

Day 2: Exploring the Strip, Shopping, and the Backstreet Boys

We started the day with a coffee and a stroll along the Strip, checking out some of the iconic hotels like the Venetian, Cosmopolitan, and the Wynn. Bring comfortable shoes, because we ended up walking over 25K steps this day! This is a must add to your first time in Las Vegas Itinerary!

Afterward, we hit the outlet malls for a little shopping spree. Lauren and I decided to treat ourselves to matching wallets.

When we got back to the Bellagio, we grabbed lunch by the pool – sushi, chips, guacamole and a diet coke- it really hit the spot!

After, we got ready for a big night: dinner followed by the Backstreet Boys concert at the Sphere!

Honestly, it was one of the best concerts I’ve ever been to! The Sphere itself is incredible, with mind-blowing visuals and sound that make you feel like you’re right in the middle of the show. If you’re a fan – or just love a great live experience – it’s an absolute must-see. Lauren and I took Bonine pills beforehand, and I highly recommend you do so if you get motion sick!

Day 3: A Sweet Goodbye to my First Time in Las Vegas

On our final day in Vegas, we slept in a bit and treated ourselves to coffee and a pastry at the Bellagio café. It was the perfect, relaxed way to wrap up the trip before heading back to the airport.

A Friday to Sunday trip was the perfect amount of time in Vegas as a newbie! It was such an amazing weekend but I was not sad to be going home.

Thanks for following along!
