Happy Saturday Everyone! Can you believe it’s officially sweater weather? I don’t know about you but this year has flown by for me. Although I’m sad summer is over, one of the main reasons I love living in the Midwest is that I get to experience all four seasons – with fall being one of my favorites! There is something so magical about sipping hot cocoa and strolling around Lincoln Park as the leaves change colors. I also love that as winter approaches, it gives us the perfect excuse to cuddle up at home and watch way too many Hallmark movies (who else is addicted?).
Unfortunately I rent my apartment and am not lucky enough to have a fireplace (bummer!), but I am excited to collaborate with Wayfair to tell you my favorite ways to make any apartment feel warm and welcoming (which is necessary as we Chi-town residents pray that another Polar Vortex isn’t in our future)
Bring on the Candles:
One of the easiest ways to warm up any space is to add a ton of candles. I love to do a mix of pretty (pure decorative) candles and a few fall scented candles. They are the next best thing when you don’t have a fireplace and make any room feel cozy! My sister and I are obsessed with the Voluspa brand! I’ve linked some of my other fall favorites below!
Add a Touch of Fur, Cable Knit or Plaid:
What says “cozy” more than faux fur and cable knit? It’s finally time to take down the pastels and replace them with more warm rustic colors. I am in love with the faux fur trend that has been going steady for the last few years. I mean how cute are these pillows? I also adore knit and plaid pillows and blankets. I see myself spending a lot of quality time on the couch in the next few months with a cup of tea (or wine) and a good book – so it’s got to be comfy!
Get Baking:
When is baking ever not a good idea? Fall allows us to indulge in so many seasonal flavors like pumpkin and apple. I personally love pumpkin everything – beer, bread, muffins, cookies, lattes… but especially pumpkin chocolate chip cookies! and you can’t forget about a classic apple pie! Baking is an easy way to make everyone around you love you, and it makes your apartment smell amazing! Just as cute workout clothes inspire a good workout – fall bakeware can inspire some delicious goodies! Add a cup of warm apple cider, or a spiced tea in the mix and I am one happy girl.
Update your Coffee Mugs:
Nothing is better than a warm drink when the weather cools down. Fall is the time of year I switch from iced coffee back to hot coffee. Whether you are a tea, coffee or hot cocoa drinker – a cute mug is always a good idea. If you’re a coffee drinker, try Archard Farms Butter Carmel from Target! It’s SO good!
Thanks for stopping by! Comment below with your favorite ways to get cozy for fall!
