I love the New Year! It’s the perfect time to reflect on the last year and make decisions on things that can make this year even better than the last! 2017 was a pretty great year for me so it might be hard to beat, but below are my top five goals for this year!
1.Travel to at least 10 new places
If you can’t tell from all my travel posts I LOVE to travel! Getting to experience new places and cultures is something I have always enjoyed to do. This year I am challenging myself to go to at least 10 new places. This could be a new city, country, state – you name it. But I want to set my eyes on some new things!
2. Save more $$$ than last year
I am a huge believer in saving money while you are young and have nothing to worry about besides taking care of yourself. I keep a spreadsheet (that I talk about in THIS post), where I track my yearly savings and compare them against the year before. Knock on wood – but I have managed to increase the amount I’ve saved every year and I don’t plan on making this year an exception!
3. Grow my blog and double my Instagram following
When I first started blogging, it was a way to document all of my work travels. But at the end of last year I realized that I love the community associated with blogging, and want to make more of an effort to participate in it. I also want to get to know more of you and give you guys/gals the content you want to see!
4. Commit to having a healthy/happy year
Because I’m a consultant and am constantly on the road – this one is a little tough for me. However, I am committed to trying to stay healthy this year (aka get the salad at Wendy’s instead of the fries..) when my options are limited. Also part of this goal is just being generally a happier person. Last year I was way to easily upset about things in my life either not going as planned, or not working out like I hoped they would. In 2018 I am going to try to go with the flow, and take advantage of everyday!
5. Read (at least) a book a month
I am the queen of not putting down my phone at night before I go to bed. So this year I decided to try to break that habit I am going to ready instead of scrolling through my phone. I’m really hoping I can stick to this so I get better sleep and read some great books in the process!
