Day Trip to Bath from London: Solo Traveler Style

While I was in London, I decided to take a day trip to Bath. From the London Paddington Station it took about an hour and a half each way and cost 60 pounds round trip (around $80 USD). The trains run every half hour so you have a lot of flexibility with how long you want to stay.

The two main things I did in Bath was shop and visit the popular Roman Baths.

The day I went was gorgeous and there are a ton of great shops on the main street in Bath, essentially right when you leave the train station. They have a lot of stores that we also have in the US (ZARA, H&M, etc) but there are also a lot of UK based companies as well! And to be honest, the stores we have in the US usually have better clothes in Europe so it’s worth stopping in!

After exploring the shops I stopped for a nice lunch in a little plaza right across from the Roman Baths where there was live music and such great people watching.

Next I ventured across the street to the Roman Baths. I had actually already been to Bath and visited these when I was in middle school, but there is something special about re-experiencing things as an adult. I feel like you appreciate it so much more! They have free audio guides that you can use when you go through the baths which I recommend doing if you’re into history. Otherwise you are essentially paying to walk in, see the baths and leave. Since I was there by myself and not with a group I was easily able to get in line and get a ticket to go inside.

Before heading back to the train I grabbed a coffee at the cutest coffee shop called Wild Cafe. They had really fun wallpaper and the girl working there was so nice and helped me snap a few pics and gave me a little refill on my coffee for the train ride back to London 🙂

Thanks for stopping by!

XOXO,
