Trip Recap – Wedding Weekend in Hilton Head Island

I went to Hilton Head Island for my friend Katie’s wedding at the end of last year and it was such a blast! I went to Hilton Head for the first time a few years ago for another one of my best friends wedding and fell in love with the cute beach town charm! Below are some of my favorite pictures from the weekend and what I did on my short weekend trip!

I arrived late on Thursday night (like midnight late) so I met my friends at the hotel, said a quick hello and went straight to sleep. Feeling refreshed, I woke up and explored the Island with my friend Meredith! I knew a few spots to go from the last time I was there and since this was Meredith’s first time to the Island I took her to the Sea Pines area.

First stop was at the Sea Pines Beach Club. This is a really fun spot to grab food and drinks by the beach! However, we just checked out the beach since I wanted to make sure she got to go to The Salty Dog cafe for lunch which is a Hilton Head Staple!

Right when we got done with lunch it started raining so we headed back to the hotel to get ready for dinner and the welcome party. For dinner we went to a place called FishCamp which was excellent! I had the parmesan crusted grouper and could not recommend it more! I was also one happy girl being back with all my college girlfriends!

The next morning a few of us went to brunch at Palmetto Bay Sun Rise Cafe. It was chilly on the Island so I wore my new WoodenShips Tunic sweater and could have not been happier I brought it! (Check out my other WoodenShips sweater HERE) Although I am a seasoned traveler, I always seem to think that any beach town or southern location is a consistent 80 degrees and sunny… which is not always the case.

After brunching and a few hours of relaxing we got ready for the wedding and headed to the Church. The reception that followed was held at the Westin. Their cocktail hour was right on the beachfront and thankfully we had a perfect night with a gorgeous sunset!

Overall it was such a fun short trip – always worth it to see your friends so happy and in love! Congrats to Zach and Katie – thanks for letting me come celebrate with you and explore Hilton Head!
