Hey everyone! If you’ve been following me for a while you know that I travel a lot for work. Last year I got to spend a few months traveling to Columbus Ohio. It’s always a pleasant surprise when I get sent to a city where I actually know people and there are fun things to do! The only bad part about working in Columbus was I was on night shift (4pm to 4am), but although my sleep schedule was WAY off it allowed me to explore a lot of the city during the day! Honestly, I think it would be ideal to work a 2-11 schedule permanently.
I also loved going to Columbus because I had lived there for a summer in college when I had an internship with Limited Brands and I got to revisit a lot of places we used to go to! If I had to live anywhere in Ohio, I must admit that Columbus is a pretty cool spot.
WHAT I SAW/ DID
Clippers Game – You can’t go wrong with a week night baseball game. The stadium is fairly new and really nice!
Explored the Short North Area
Played Life Size Beer Bong at Pins
Strolled around Goodale Park with an Iced coffee from One Line Coffee
Shopped: Traveling alone gets semi-boring sometimes so I end up doing what I do best – SHOP 🙂 The short north area has a ton of cute boutiques, but I also loved driving to the Easton outdoor shopping mall if I had a lot of time to kill.
Went on a lot of walks down the Scioto Mile
WHERE I ATE
Condados – Tacos on tacos on tacos
North Market – this was my FAVORITE place to go! They have little restaurants all over the building and they are all awesome! I listed my favorites below!
North Market: Destination Donuts
North Market: Hot Chicken Takeover
North Market: Jeni’s Ice Cream (they have locations all over the city)
North Market: Firdous Express
North Market: Little Eater – I took this to-go a lot of days and saved it for dinner!
North Market: Katzinger’s Delicatessen – Highly recommend the Turkey Rueben!
The Angry Baker
Northstar Cafe – If this was in Chicago I would eat here ALL the time. They have the best sandwiches and salads and have a lot of locations in Columbus.
Fox in the Snow Cafe
ZEST – the best place to go for smoothies and healthy treats!
Food Hall – just as the name says this is a food hall style place where you order at the different stations and then sit and wait for your food (you have a separate waitress for drinks). We got the BBQ when we went but the Ramen and Pizza also looked delicious!
The Eagle – Southern Comfort food – highly recommend the homemade biscuits!
Martini – amazing Italian place with delicious Martinis!
Trism: Delicious healthy food by day – nightclub by night. I can’t vouch for the nightclub but the food is worth a trip there during the day!
The Pearl – really cute for brunch. My parents were randomly in Columbus the weekend of Mothers day so we came here to celebrate!
Short North: I spent most of my time in Columbus in the short north area. There are a ton of cute restaurants and boutiques! They also have art work on the sides of all the buildings.
Laughlin’s Bakery
Cravings Cafe
Wolfs Ridge Brewing
Tasi Cafe – everything here is amazing!
Katalina – get the famous pancake balls!
Philco Bar and Diner
Red Velvet Cafe

WHERE I STAYED
Hilton Downtown: Love this hotel! It’s updated, has a great gym, great staff and an executive lounge if you have status.
DoubleTree Downtown – a little bit older of a hotel but a very friendly staff, great gym – it’s an actual athletic center so the hours are weird but they have a TON of equipment, a golf simulator and racket ball courts. They also have a great breakfast!
Sheraton Hotel Downtown – also an older hotel but if you have status the lounge has really good food (and cookies)
Westin Columbus Downtown – also an older hotel (hahah this must be a trend) but it was recently renovated and the rooms are upgraded and very spacious. I will say that this was the loudest hotel I stayed at. Even on the 6th (out of 7) floors I heard everything going on outside!
Thanks for stopping by! I can’t wait to see where I end up next for work!
XOXO
Great pics. The food looks amazing. Now I can’t wait to go back to Columbus .
Take care,
