Hey Everyone. I hope you are all staying healthy and safe at home! I realize it is hard to find ways to entertain yourself while you are home so I thought I would share a few fun ideas my sister and I have been doing.
1.Puzzles and Popcorn
I know not everyone is into puzzles, but they are a great activity to do while chatting with family and friends and keeps your mind engaged. I currently don’t do anything at home without a snack, so we’ve been making popcorn in our favorite microwave popcorn maker, pouring some wine and getting after it.
2. DIY Paint and Sip
I bought a paint by numbers set on Amazon and had a blast doing it last weekend! It was honestly a lot harder than I thought, and probably took us about 6 hours to finish on Sunday, but it was so much fun! And while you’re at it, why not have brunch and mimosas while you paint!
3. Breakout an Old Gaming System
I used to be obsessed with video games when I was younger so I had my parents dig out my old Nintendo 64 and send it to my sister and I. I haven’t played it in years so it was fun to get back into some of my favorite games like Super Mario Bros, Golden Eye and Zelda! Again – add wine or a cocktail and it’s a relaxing way to pass the time.
4. DIY Flower Arrangement
I did a floral arrangement class while I was in London a few years ago and had a BALST, so i figured it could be fun to do at home as well. All you have to do is pick up some flowers while you are out at the grocery store doing your regular shopping and try to make an arrangement on your own. I think this could be really fun doing via Zoom or Skype as well while chatting with girlfriends!
5. Make a “Thinking of you” Package/Letter
One of the hardest parts of staying at home for me is that I can’t interact with my friends and family as much as normal. So why not send them something to let them know you’re thinking about them. It doesn’t need to be elaborate or expensive to make it special and very much appreciated. Especially for those who are quarantined alone. Below are a few ideas:
- Send something to help them pass their time on the weekend:
- Bottle of champagne
- Coffee and/or pancake mix
- Everything they need for a spa day (bubble bath, a customized Spotify playlist, candle, etc)
- Write a hand written letter to let them know what you miss most about hanging out with them – I LOVE getting cards in the mail!
- Send a fun craft or recipe for them to try (DIY paint kit /friendship bracelets/your moms famous cinnamon roll recipe)
I hope this sparks some ideas to keep you entertained! Thanks for stopping by!

Great ideas. Can’t wait until we’re not Quarantine anymore.
Take care
